Karen Bogart is an active pianist and collaborator in Southern California. An advocate for modern music, she is an avid performer of new repertoire.
With over a decade of teaching experience, Ms. Bogart believes in the transformative power of music education. She specializes in working with young students, using music as a means to cultivate grit, problem-solving skills, individuality, and self-esteem. Ms. Bogart works closely with both neurotypical and neurodivergent students, with a focus on those with autism and ADHD. Her students have earned prizes in the Southwestern Youth Music Festival, Satori Summer Music Festival, Inland Empire Piano Competition, and Southern California Junior Bach Festival. Many of her students have gone on to study music at the collegiate level and launch professional careers.
Ms. Bogart serves as Director of Programs for Salit Conservatory of Music in Burbank, CA, and is associate faculty in the Music Department at Riverside City College. She is the current Scholarship Director for the Moments of Music Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to excellence in music and the cultivation of young talent. She also serves on the board of directors for the Music Teachers’ Association of California, Redlands Branch, where she holds the position of 2nd Vice President.
She has served on the board of directors for the University of Redlands Piano Camp, where she developed and led their popular Performance Academy track—a course designed to stimulate and motivate advanced players.
Ms. Bogart holds an Artist Diploma, Master of Music, and Bachelor of Music in Keyboard Performance from the University of Redlands.
Her notable teachers include Rufus Choi, Michael Mizrahi, and Louanne Long.
